Welcome to SSU!

1. WiFi Networks

Sonoma State has a variety of WiFi networks. We recommend using SSU-SECURE, which is used by all staff, faculty, and students. To sign in, use your Seawolf ID and password. For more information about our networks see Networks, WiFi page.

2.Online Services

Online Services is SSU's portal to applications, services, tools, and information that may be vital to your day-to-day work.  You'll find the Login link at the top of most University web pages. MFA is required for access to the Online Services portal for students. More information on MFA and a link to the MFA Self-Service tool is available on the Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) for Students website. Online Services is where you'll go to access:

  • Email account
  • MySSU
  • Canvas
  • Google Apps (Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.)
  • Purchase Parking Permits
  • Payments (Tuition, Housing fees, etc.)
    • Set up Parent/Guardian access to payments  
  • Use a variety of handy tools

3. G Suite (Google Apps)

The G Suite by Google Cloud is available to every student. You can access your Google Apps via Online Services. You will have access to Docs, Sheets, unlimited cloud storage via Google Drive, and more.

4. Email and Calendar

Your email and calendar are hosted on our Microsoft Exchange Server. By default, your email address is in the format of seawolfid@sonoma.edu. You can access your email in OWA (Outlook Web App) through any web browser by clicking the Email & Calendar link in Online Services. 5. IT Help Desk

The IT Help Desk is in Schulz 1000.  At the IT Help Desk, we can assist students with: checking out equipment, support for common applications, malware consultation and removal, campus email accounts, Wi-Fi, and more. We can be reached by email at helpdesk@sonoma.edu or by phone (707-664-4357).

6. Learning Management System (Canvas)

Depending on your professor, your course portal may be in Canvas. In either LMS, you will be able to submit assignments, view upcoming deadlines, take online tests, and communicate with your professor and other students.

7. Computer Labs

IT manages five labs for class and student use. These labs are located in Stevenson and Schulz. With the exception of the 24hr lab, please check the lab schedule before attempting to use a lab. The 24-Hour lab in Schulz is never scheduled for classes. For more information, see our Labs and Tech Classrooms page.

8. Kivuto

Kivuto is our software distribution solution. It will allow individuals to install certain software for free on their personal computers. For a list of available software on Kivuto, see our Software Downloads for Home Use page.
